One of the older sections of the club the bowls section still welcomes new members old and young who would like to get involved in this great game. 

As a beginner you can practice in she shadow of the works, all that is needed is flat shoes. Or be more competitive and play in the competitions and league teams who currently play Tuesday night and Thursday afternoons in the Matlock leagues.

Our own green opens at the beginning of April and continues to the beginning of October weather permitting. The green has floodlights if needed, and hot drinks are available inside the pavilion.

We play crown green bowls (the green is not flat), and the jack and the bowls have a bias on them which makes them turn.

Our club is registered with the British crown green association and the Derbyshire bowling association.
